We worked on the wooden steering wheel and dash board. A little out of our element but what was needed was craftsmanship, finishing ability and a little spark to hit the deadlines for the show. The car won! What a killer car.
Kinloch Flame Mahogany
We started KFM for a couple of reasons:
- To showcase Kinloch's amazing collection of mahogany boards
- To generate furniture commissions using our vast collection of wonderful boards
- To sell some boards so we can buy some other interesting wood and make more goodies for the showroom
The boards are not cheap. The ecomony is terrible and it has taken awhile for interest to increase and check books to be opened. We are seeing some nice sales recently. Two boards were shipped to Whitehorse in the Yukon Territory, four boards to Connecticut, and a great board sold which we will make into a coffee table for a young collector in Phoenix.
World Trade Center

It has been 10 years since 9/11 shook our country. A boxcar filled with plywood derailed in front of our wood barn. The plywood was being shipped to be used in rebuilding the World Trade Center towers in NYC. My son, Brinton, used Kinloch's forklift to unload and reload the plywood into the boxcar so that the boxcar could complete its delivery. It was pretty special to be able to do anything that would be positive regarding that terrible day.
